Fight the Power: Art and Protest | Whawhai ki te Mana brings together artworks, protest material, and ephemera that tell a story of how individuals and communities have organised, expressed dissent, and worked for social change.

Through banners, flags, badges, posters, photographs, paintings, sculpture, and other objects, visitors will encounter stories connected to women's rights, Maaori rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, anti-apartheid activism, nuclear disarmament, and environmental action. These visual expressions of protest offer powerful insights into the causes, challenges, and aspirations that have shaped our society.

This exhibition includes Ralph Hotere's Aramoana from the Chartwell Collection.
