Lauren Lysaght

Note from the artist:

“My work is mainly concerned with the forgotten and overlooked. In the past, some of the issues I have dealt with have been poverty, addiction, and home invasion. I am concerned that injustices such as these will become invisible, so I bring attention to them through my work.

If you put a shell to your ear…is mainly about the commodification of the Pacific. As a child we would put a shell to our ear and listen to the ocean. I thought abut the innocence of that act and where we have come to now.”
