Chartwell Books

We can report that the next Chartwell Books in Schools donation has been successfully received by NZ art teachers at all high schools around NZ. A Micronaut in the Wide World: The Imaginative LIfe and Times of Graham Percy, AUP, 2011 has been so well received that feedback has come flooding in including this note from Flaxmere College: "We received a copy of the fantastic Graham Percy book from you. This book has been a big hit with my students. They love flicking through and picking out an image to copy. Thank you very much from as all here at Flaxmere College." From Collingwood Area School: "Thank you for the Gregory O'Brien book which brought your website and collection to my attention. I absolutely adore the book and so do our students: thank you! What a lovely gift. It will be an asset to our library: as an area school we appreciate donations of this calibre." From Ruatoki School: 'Kia ora koutou Thank you so much for sending 'The Imaginative Life and Times of Graham Percy' to Te Wharekura o Ruatoki. I am the school librarian there who,due to toxic mould in the library found herself without an occupation and was soon put to work as a co-art teacher across the road at the marae. (We also had 4 classrooms and the school hall burn down at the the same time. It wasn't arson, only that there was no place to set up the library or an art class). So I am singularly well set up as librarian and art teacher to appreciate your magnificent gesture. The students will enjoy Graham Percy's approaches when I point it out to them and I look forward to trying the interactive classroom activities."

Thanks to all the schools who have let us know how much this book has been appreciated and to Nelson College for Girls who also said of our website: ":This is a great website - I need to remember to use it more often."
