Made Active: The Chartwell Show

Made Active: The Chartwell Show

Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki
14 April - 15 July 2012

Welcome to Chartwell’s online information in association with Made Active: The Chartwell Show.

Here you will find Chartwell Founding Trustee Rob Gardiner talking about the exhibition, his thoughts on contemporary art, and his encouragement for viewers of Made Active: The Chartwell Show to exercise their imagination, allowing their senses to think.

Also presented here on video is exhibiting artist Daniel Malone talking about his work Black Market Next to My Name. Malone explains the work’s origins and discusses its future potential. Made Active will be the first time this major installation has been exhibited in full since it was first shown at Auckland artist-run space Gambia Castle in 2007 (a series of still images documenting the 2007 exhibition is available to view on the work's page). To coincide with this is the launch of a new publicationBlack Market Next to My Name, published by Clouds and Hopkinson Cundy.

Throughout the duration of the exhibition we'll be publishing notes on the exhibition on our Collection News page.
