Chartwell supports artists as they make and think. Making is an active and connected process, involving the interaction of intention, intuition and intellect with the mediums of the world. Chartwell is making too - making a difference through philanthropy and enabling access to creative activities and research.

Guy Benfield

Guy Benfield was born in Sydney in 1964, and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Benfield is a multi-disciplinary artist working in many diverse mediums such as painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, performance and video.

Benfield has exhibited widely, with solo exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne, Lisbon, New York and Brooklyn, as well as group exhibitions in Bordeaux, France; BRIX Gallerie, Berlin; Artspace Sydney, Australia; the Monkey Town Semiennial, New York; the Shanghai Biennale, China; Atelierfrankfurt, Germany; Zacheta National Gallery, Poland; the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius, Lithuania; and Escola Maumaus, Lisbon. His work has also been featured in publications such as Frieze, Flash Art, NYARTS Magazine, Art Review and Art World.
